Conservative MP Michael Cooper has apologized for being rude to Faisal Khan Suri, president of the Alberta Muslim Public Affairs Council, following Suri’s testimony before the Commons’ justice committee last week.

I agree with him on that. Cooper should not have insulted Suri by saying he “should be ashamed of himself,” nor should he have attacked Suri’s credibility.

But Cooper also apologized (or more likely was forced to by Conservative Leader Andrew Scheer’s office) for quoting a terrorist, despite the fact this was completely justified given the context in which it occurred.
