Today in Canada’s Political History: Sophie Grégoire and Justin Trudeau married in Montreal

It is a great pleasure to send out anniversary best wishes to the Prime Minister and his wife Sophie Grégoire, on this, their 17th wedding anniversary. Both hail from Montreal, though Justin spent a few years as a child and youth in another Canadian city.A decade after their 2005 marriage Justin would become Prime Minister of Canada and remains in that post today. As with all the spouses of our PMs, it is doubtful that Mr. Trudeau would have attained the highest office in the land without the support of his life partner. They have three children, Xavier, Ella-Grace and Hadrien.Happy anniversary Prime Minister and Sophie on this, your special day.[caption id="attachment_619449" align="alignleft" width="276"] Sophie Grégoire and Justin Trudeau on their wedding day[/caption]Arthur Milnes is an accomplished public historian and award-winning journalist.  He was research assistant on The Rt.
