A different path.
That is how some would characterize the commencement of our new Liberal government in Nova Scotia. And while that is true, the truth goes much deeper than that.
For Brendan Maguire, new MLA for Halifax Atlantic, this journey is intensely personal. The privilege to sit in the Legislature and represent his constituents is an inspiring reminder of how far he has come because of the positive choices made by him and those around him.
Premier Stephen McNeil is proud to have Brendan Maguire on his team, and we are all honoured to have such strong and principled leadership in our Liberal caucus. Together, Premier McNeil and his team are working hard to take our province down a different path – a better path – by investing in schools, frontline healthcare, small businesses and responsible resources. We have a lot of work ahead of us, but we also have a government that is dedicated, talented and committed to the best interests of Nova Scotians.
Later this week, our government will unveil its first Speech from the Throne as the Legislature resumes on November 28th. This will be a proud milestone for our party and a historic one for the province.
And when Premier Stephen McNeil, Brendan Maguire, and the entire Liberal caucus take their seats on the government side of the Legislature, I hope you will be proud and know that your support helped make this day happen.
Sincerely,
Dr. John Gillis
President, Nova Scotia Liberal Party
